Privacy policy

Breeze is a self-management tool for people with gout and hyperuricemia. Your privacy comes first.

1. We collect no data

Breeze does not collect, upload, or share any of your personal information or health data. Everything you record — uric acid readings, medications, flares, dietary factors, water intake, follow-up questions — is stored only locally on your own device (an on-device database). Neither the developer nor any third party can access it.

2. No account, no network dependency

Breeze requires no sign-up and no login. Its core features work fully offline and communicate with no server.

3. No third parties, no tracking

Breeze integrates no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and performs no user-behavior tracking.

4. System permissions

• Notifications: used only to deliver reminders you have turned on — medication doses, follow-up appointments, drinking water, and standing up to move. Each is scheduled only after you enable that feature, and all of them are delivered locally by iOS without going through any server. You can turn them off in system settings at any time. No information is collected through notifications.
• Camera and photos: used only when you choose to attach a photo to a record. You can pick from your library (the system picker hands Breeze only the image you select — the app cannot browse your library) or take a new photo. Photos are stored only on this device, never uploaded or shared, and Breeze does not analyse or interpret what is in them. Deleting a record, or using Clear all data, removes the photo files from the device as well.
• Health (HealthKit): requested only after you tap Connect Apple Health, and read-only, limited to sleep and step count, to display lifestyle factors related to uric acid on the Today screen. Breeze never writes to Health. Values read are used only in memory and on screen — they are not stored in the app's database, not uploaded, and not shared. You can revoke access at any time under iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. Health data is never used for advertising or any data-mining purpose.

5. Your control over your data

• Export: at any time, under Me → Export data, you can export all your data to a file. Your data belongs to you.
• Delete: at any time, under Me → Clear all data, you can delete all health data on the device; uninstalling the app also removes all local data.
• No recovery. Because no copy exists anywhere else, deleted data cannot be restored by us. Export before deleting the app or changing phones.

6. Medical information & disclaimer

Breeze only records and summarizes health data; it provides no diagnosis or medication advice. All medical reference values are sourced. Breeze is not a substitute for medical care. The fuller disclaimer is below.

7. Children's privacy

Breeze is intended for adult patients, is not directed at children under 13, and collects no data.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date here and in the app.

This website

Separate from the app, and stated separately so that the two are never confused. The purine database, the calculator, the unit converter and the level chart run entirely in your browser. Values you type are not submitted, logged or stored. The site sets no cookies, uses no third-party analytics or advertising service, and does not track you between visits or across sites.

Nothing is counted, including clicks. Until 10 September 2026 the beta button passed through a redirect on this domain that added 1 to a daily tally. That redirect and its counter have been removed: the download button now links straight to the App Store, and no request you make to this site is recorded anywhere by us.

The site is served as static files from a content delivery network, whose operator processes standard server request logs (including IP address) for delivery and abuse prevention — this is infrastructure logging, not analytics we collect or read.

Medical disclaimer

Breeze records and summarises health data that you enter. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose any condition, does not recommend or adjust medication, and does not tell you what to eat.

Purine values published on this site describe foods as measured in their source databases; they cannot tell you what is safe for you personally. Uric acid reference values are population-level figures published by clinical bodies, reproduced with the guideline and year they come from — they are not an assessment of your reading. Trigger summaries in the app report how often a factor appeared before recorded flares and make no causal claim.

None of this replaces professional medical care. Discuss your readings, your diet and your medication with a doctor or dietitian, and seek medical attention for symptoms that concern you.

This site and its tools are provided as-is, free of charge, without warranty of any kind. Purine and reference values are reproduced from published sources in good faith; errors are possible, and corrections are welcome at the address above. You are responsible for decisions you make using this information, and are encouraged to make health decisions with a clinician rather than a web page.

Breeze is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Apple Inc., the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National Institutes of Health, or the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China. Data from those bodies is reproduced with attribution.
